press conference gone bad

the governor of nv came to my office this week for a press conference. it was the first visit for governor jim gibbons and along with his PR and body guards, it was a very exciting event for all of us. the press conference was for a teacher's loan program offered through the housing division. the governor was there to congratulate the first teacher who has completed this loan and to answer questions and promote the program. after only 10 minutes into the press conference, a reporter asked him about the nasty divorce from his soon to be ex-wife. apparently, she's accusing him of an extramarital affair. this divorce cannot come at a worse time in the middle of his term. the PR immediately interrupted the reporter and escorted the governor out of the office. needless to say, the media was only there to ask him about his personal life. they were not interested at all in our loan program. the next day, all we can find on the news regarding our press conference was a short sentence in an article in the LV review journal. what has the world of media turn into? i guess nothing sells but tabloids. here is the article. there are a few pictures of the governor in my office and some of the people i work with.

time with family

over memorial day weekend, i went down to ca to celebrate mom's birthday. with everyone in different cities, it's not very often our family gets together. it was a perfect holiday with nice cool weather in southern ca. pea got to see her niece for the first time in four months. we got to spend some time at j & a's house. whose idea was it to take out the violin? thanks j for taking these videos. i wonder what our parents think now for all the money they spent on music lessons for the four of us. i didn't have any violin lessons because i never liked the sound of it. However, my duet with AL is too funny not to post. i must also add that this is the first time i picked up a violin since 4th grade and played a song from beginning to end. thanks A for the great piano accompaniment. looking forward to our next duet!

Here is the better version of the same song:

A is so much better on the violin!

welcome!

as i was laying in bed last night, i remembered pea telling me to create my own blog since everyone else has one these days. inspired by pea, i spent an hour laying there trying to think of a name for my blog. a new artist from UK named Leona Lewis has a hit song call bleeding love. i really liked her album and decided to download some of her songs onto my itunes. one of my favorites was called better in time. it's got beautiful lyrics and i think it really describes how i feel at this moment of my life. hopefully, it'll get better in time...
